Credit Building Program Workshops
The Credit Building Program consists of three separate workshops. Participants must attend all three workshops to complete the Credit Building Program. A Certificate of Completion is presented upon completion
Workshop #1 Credit Basics
In this workshop, participants learn banking basics and about the importance of credit. Participants will learn about their options for building and/or rebuilding their credit, how to shop for credit, and what to do if they are are in a credit crisis.
Workshop #2 Money Management & Budgeting
During this workshop, participants will learn about the importance of money management. They will be introduced to basic budget rules and learn how to calculate and track their income and expenses. Participants will establish goals and begin to develop their budgets, savings and credit building plans. They will also be provided with a Financial Portfolio Toolkit for tracking their finances and will learn useful tips for staying on track.
Workshop #3 Becoming a Homeowner
In the final workshop, participants will explore the costs and benefits of renting and homeownership and will be introduced to the various types of homeownership. They will learn about the home buying process and work to determine affordability based on their financial situation. Lastly, participants will learn about mortgages, budgeting for homeownership, and how to be a responsible homeowner.
