Our Down Payment Programs have helped 880
families stop renting and own their own home.

Through our programs, we offer down payment grants in amounts up to 5% of the purchase price of a home. Most grants are repayable over time, while some never have to be repaid.*

The grant can be applied to homes with our partner builders. We’ve partnered with reputable builders to make sure you get the best value in your home purchase.

The down payment grants can only be used toward the purchase of a home from our partner builders. They’ll help you find a home that fits your family and budget.

It’s important to complete the application!
If you don’t submit a complete application, we can’t determine your eligibility and the level of financial support you need.

Income eligibility limits

Income limits for down payment programs vary by city because they are approved by municipal, provincial and federal levels of government.

In most cases, the applicant’s annual household income before taxes must be below $90,000 to qualify.

In Saskatchewan, the income limits are set by the Government of Saskatchewan’s Housing Corporation and the City of Saskatoon. See more information here.

*Grant repayment requirements vary based on municipality, government participation and applicant eligibility criteria. Government sponsored grants are limited.

The first step is to apply online and find out if you’re eligible for the grant. The online application only takes a few minutes to fill out.

After your application is submitted online, an NAHC Housing & Mortgage Coordinator will contact you to let you know if you’ve qualified for the program.

Once you’ve been pre-qualified, you will know how much you can borrow to buy your first home and will be able to choose a house with one of our builder partners.
